Ways to spend your summer

Summer, three months worth of time to spend as you please. We all love this time of the year but sometimes it can get a little boring. I created a list of five things you and your friends can do in those times of boredom.

Try New Things

There is so many different things out there you can try, all you have to do is look for them. Near my house I found this game called Frisbee Golf. According to the Disc Golf Association ” Disc golf is similar to regular golf; however, instead of using golf clubs and balls aiming for a hole, Disc Golf players use golf discs and aim for a Disc Pole Hole, a pole extending up from the ground with chains and a basket where the disc lands.” My friends and I went and played a few rounds and the game was actually very fun we 10/10 recommend it. Also while we were playing we also saw a gorgeous sunset which totally made the night.

Go to a new restaurant

My parents and I were bored one night and thought we would try out a new place. A couple of weeks earlier we had seen that a PF. Chang’s had opened near us and some of my friends said that the food was great. One night when we finally decided to go we were very satisfied with the results.  I got strawberry lemonade, sesame chicken, shrimp lo-mien, an egg roll, and steamed dumplings. Overall the food was very good that I think we might go back again ( even though our waitress Barb  had to scream due to the loud restaurant nosiness ). Also our waitress thought I was 22 and legal but I had to break it to her that I was only 15 ( I guess my makeup fooled her… ohhhh Barb).

Soon we will also be trying a new crepe place, which will be featured in a future post ; )

Have a photo shoot

This one is probably my favorite thing to do when I’m bored! All you need is a photographer ( friend, parent, etc.), a location and yourself. Photo shoots are so fun for when your bored because you get to get all dolled up and get some great pics for Instagram, VSCO, etc. This day the lighting was good outside and it wasn’t too hot or cold. I decided to wear outfits that have a vintage feel with old fashioned overalls and an oversized jean jacket ( Fun Fact: Both of these items my parents wore when they were younger, and they kept them thinking they would come back to style in the future which they did! Thanks mom and dad). Along with the vintage feel I also added some more modern pieces like vans, space buns, and tube tops. If you want to know where I bought these items check out the shop my looks section of my blog : )

Learn to cook new things

Me and my friends loveeeeee crepes, so we decided to try to make them ourselves . My mom went out and bought all the supplies needed and we got to work. We used our recipe we found online and made our own crepes filled with ingredients like Nutella, strawberries, sugar, chocolate syrup, and whip cream. I was very proud of our creations, they were so delicious. I will admit that the ones made at crepe shops taste better, but I think ours tasted pretty good in comparison.

Have a bonfire

On a summer night a bonfire is the perfect way to pass time. Just call up some friends, gather up some wood, and get some s’mores materials ready to go. Also you’ll need a bonfire (in some areas there are open bonfires for anyone to use, but luckily we already have one at my house). So just go outside play some music, chit chat with friends, and just have a good time.

Explore a new area

You can do this one in many different ways. It can be a new shopping mall/ plaza near you. Like in my area, there is a new shopping center called Belmont that opened up recently with a Nordstrom rack, Chick-fil-a, Target, Dicks Sporting Goods, Ulta, Starbucks, etc.. I’ve been there a couple of times but there’s so much to do that I can’t wait to go back. It could also be going on a hike in an area near you (more on this in a post soon to come). Also it could be going to a new city or a beach trip. All of these are only a few places you can explore, but there are many others.

These were only a few ideas on how to spend your time this summer but I hope they helped you. Well I will talk to you guys next post!!
