Right now I’m on a train heading to one of my favorite places on earth… New York City! It is T minus 3 days until my birthday and I can’t wait. I decided for my Sweet 16th that I didn’t really wanna do a party, so I asked my parents if my b-day present could be a weekend trip to the Big Apple.  Now a couple weeks later,  I’m on my way….. to the city with my Mom by my side! This Mother Daughter weekend should be one to remember.  We have been on the train for around an hour, and I’ve been jamming out to Christmas music! I know it may sound a little early since Halloween was literally yesterday, but in my mind starting November 1st it’s acceptable. That’s all I got for now, I’ll update y’all  later…

*here is a little video recap of my trip! Enjoy :)*

It’s 8 o’clock now and we are eating at a restaurant called Till & Sprocket in Manhattan. We have been in the city for only a couple of  hours now, and have already witnessed a crazy women kicking & screaming at a guy randomly walking past her ( oh New York… never a dull moment). He didn’t even see or hear her coming with his Apple air pods in.   Tonight we are sharing a Margherita pizza and Spaghetti Carbonara. -yummmm.   Now we are heading to the Macy’s on 34th street in the city! This store is so huge it is a blast to walk around.  It’s only one day after Halloween, and some of their Christmas decorations are already out.  I’m not gonna go in full detail about this because I plan on doing a full blog post on this topic in the future, so watch out for that one.

Wow!  What a day I have been having.  This morning I woke up at 5:30. I know what you’re thinking “ew that’s too early”, and trust me I totally agree. The thing was we needed to get up at this time to head over to the Upper West Side to see Live with Kelly and Ryan. The show was pretty entertaining.  It’s fun to sit in the audience of shows that are taped in NYC.  I hadn’t done that before but my brothers have and  I wanted to go.  The main special guest was Sarah Jessica Parker from Sex and the City.  She had such a gorgeous outfit on, which wasn’t a surprise because she is known for her looks and shoes.  I watched the Carrie Diaries so I enjoyed seeing her since she played the adult Carrie Bradshaw for years.  The talk show was funny because they made you clap when it was needed for the effect in the episode, and before the show started they taught you how to make your claps louder. After the show we took a taxi over to 5th Avenue!! When we arrived we took a bunch of pics in the area, and did a little bit of shopping at other stores before our reservation. Our reservation was at the Blue Box Cafe in the Tiffany and Company flagship store. This restaurant made you feel like a part of the famous Breakfast at Tiffany’s movie that Audrey Hepburn was the lead in. I’m not gonna get into too much detail on this because I plan on doing a review in the future, so be on the lookout for that!! But the place was super cute!!!

It’s a lot later now and we have a lot to catch up on after breakfast at Tiffany’s so we headed to Central Park- we could see the park’s amazing views from our breakfast- and I’m sure you can guess what we did… took photos of course. As we were walking through the park, I saw a huge rock with all these people on the top, so we decided to walk over to see what was happening. This was when I saw the most beautiful view I have EVER seen! From the rock we saw trees galore in all the fall colors, and behind them skyscrapers towering over. It was just so cool to see Central Park with all the people from all around the world just enjoying the weather and the fall day.  In NYC,  you always hear so many languages being spoken and people just loving the experience.   I was in awe and didn’t want to leave, but eventually had to so we could get to the next destination. We took a taxi to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. If I am being honest I didn’t go for the art.  I went to sit on the steps like Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl. This is an ICONIC spot in the show for S & B fights, B forcing little J down a step, and a school lunch spot for the girls of Constance. By now, my Mom and I were pretty tired so we thought we would just eat closer to our hotel room. Last time my Mom was here with my brother they had gone to a restaurant called Stella in Macy’s so we decided to go there. We decided to split a Margherita pizza and pasta… when we don’t know what to eat we eat pizza lol  it was sooooo good!

I’m now on the train heading back home, but have had the most amazing trip! Let me give you a little recap through my last day in the Big Apple. We started off the day at Balthazar in Soho, a French restaurant known for being in a Sex and the City episode. My Mom got french toast and I got an omelette. After this we headed to the Glossier store!! The set up was very different then anything I’ve ever seen. You waited in a line outside of this big building that didn’t look like a store, then when an elevator came down they let you in to go up to the penthouse level- labeled Glossier Showroom.  It felt suspicious.  Once the elevator door opened it was a store packed with people–especially obsessed teens & makeup.  Let me know if you would want to see a review of my new products. After we left Glossier, we went to a couple other stores like Brandy Melville, Zara, and Urban Outfitters. When we finished at Urban it was soon time to get to Penn Station. Firstly though, we needed something to eat, so went to the Starbucks.  They had just come out with their Christmas drinks & cups so this really got me in the holiday spirit. My Mom got a Chai tea while I got a Peppermint hot chocolate. After our caffeine break it was time to get on the train, which is where we are now.

Overall, I had an amazing 16th birthday trip!! It’s now less than 24 hours until the big day and I could not have had a better time. I’m a little sad the trip is over because it went by so fast, but I know I’ll be back to the city eventually. Btw thank you sm Mom & Dad for making this trip happen! I hope this post gave you guys some ideas on what to do when in NYC, and if you ever get the opportunity to go DON’T turn it down. You will never run out of new things to see and do there.   Last but not least. if you wanna see where I got my New York looks from, then please check out the shop my looks page. ( you won’t regret it ♡)
