“It’s the most wonderful time of the year” where families come together to spread holiday cheer, and the cookies keep piling up… “Come on all, it’s Christmas time” If you can’t already tell this is my favorite holiday, and I’ve been celebrating since November 1st ( Sorry Thanksgiving, luv ya too). To get into the spirit there are many ways to prepare. I’ve done just a few things so far, but thought I’d share with you guys to give you some inspiration!
When I went to New York on November 1st a lot of the Christmas decorations were already out. I already know what you’re thinking it was the day after Halloween how would there already have been Christmas decorations out? If we are being honest I really don’t know, but I do know that the inside (and outside) of Macy’s made it feel like your “walking in a Winter Wonderland”. My fave sight in the store had to be the lit up Believe sign that was above the area where little kids were writing their Christmas wish lists, and of course the iconic window displays. Other areas of New York also had some decorations like The Met had wreaths, and Central Park had ice skating with people skating in short sleeve t-shirts.
You don’t have to be in New York to see “ Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas”, you can find things in your own town. For example, my town has a light display you can drive through, so you can grab some friends & a Starbucks hot chocolate then experience the show. If you have a theater near you, go check to see if they are performing the Nutcracker, or head over to the closest ice skating rink. Lastly, if there is nothing where you live and you feel like you’ll “have a blueeee Christmas” then make it for yourself…
“Deck the halls with boughs of holly” because we are talking about those decorations! Every year we would usually put our decorations up the day after Thanksgiving, but this year we put them up earlier. This year I had a new mini tree to put in my room, I bought it from Aerie after Christmas last year. I absolutely love it because my old little tree was hot pink which really isn’t the look I’m going for. If you wanna get cute decor on a budget, I’d try checking out Target, Home Goods & Michaels. You can find some cute stuff for a cheaper price than some other decor stores. In my house my fav decorations are our Byers choice carolers, and all of our Joy pieces. We have A TONE of things that say Joy because my Mom and her friend around the holiday season drop of little surprise gifts that say Joy in each other’s mail boxes. They call it #Joy and she sends me to the mailbox when she gets a mailbox emoji from her friend. It’s so cute that they do that, and sometimes we get food related things which is a total win for me. yummm!

This is definitely one of my favorite aspects of the holiday season. Everyday while I’m getting ready for school you can catch me listening to the Christmas Classics playlist on Spotify, or watching one of Netflix’s Christmas movies. My favs on Netflix at the moment are The Princess Switch & The Grinch. I obviously love all the classics like Rudolph, The Polar Express, Home Alone, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and much more, but I’m also obsessed with Hallmark movies! Every movie has a similar plot, every movie has the same ending, and every movie has famous actors you haven’t seen in years and they all end with a cute couple ending up together. The movies are just so entertaining though, and make for a “ Holly Jolly Christmas” night. When it comes to Christmas music, I’ll literally listen to anything ( if you couldn’t tell throughout this whole post, I’ve been using lyrics from some of my songs I have on repeat)
So far I’ve had a great start to the holiday season, and can’t wait to keep celebrating with my friends and family. I hope you all got some inspiration from this post. I’d love to hear some of your traditions so maybe I can add them to my plans in December. Going to watch Elf and start baking Christmas cookies next weekend. Hope you all “ Have A holly jolly Christmas, It’s the best time of the year”
