Six ways to spend your Free Time during the Coronavirus …

Originally my high school spring break was supposed to be 4 days, but now due to the Coronavirus I have 2 weeks off of school! The problem with this though is that I’m already bored… It’s the middle of March, It’s not super warm, and there is not a lot of things you can do due to the virus. So many places are closed!  The one thing I do know is that I’m not the only one in this position.   Many colleges, high schools, restaurants and stores are closed until further notice.  Most are closed for at least two weeks also.  This is why I’m here to help! I made a list of activities you can do to pass time while being (mainly) stuck at home, so If the Coronavirus has you sitting on your phone for hours bored out of your mind then keep on reading.

1.𝓢𝓹𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓬𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰

Since winter is coming to an end it’s time to get things organized for the Spring & Summer, It’s time to start cleaning. I know for me whenever I’m feeling like a mess I start with my room. When my room is in order then I’m in order. My biggest tip I could give you for fixing up your room is to keep things minimalistic. Before I redid my room I had so many decor pieces that were just collecting dust, but now that I’ve made things simplistic it keeps my room from lookin like a hot mess. Next, I would do a closet clean out.  A good rule of thumb when deciding if you are gonna keep something or not, think about the last time you wore that item. When I used this tactic I ended up with a full garbage bag of clothing! Then it’s up to you if you wanna donate the clothes or sell them, but either way they will be going to a better home where they will be worn : ) Lastly, my biggest tip is with the corona virus going around make sure to disinfect EVERYTHING… especially your phone.

2. 𝓣𝓻𝔂 𝓢𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓝𝓮𝔀

Whether it’s a new makeup look, hairstyle, or outfit you now have the time to try it out! There are many things you can easily do @ home and still have a fun time! I know for me I got the James Charles palette for Christmas, but I never got the chance to test out all the gorgeous vibrant colors in the palette. I finally got the chance to attempt some looks which was a fun time. I’ve also been trying to get more into reading, so my book of choice has been ” Becoming Michelle Obama” by obviously Michelle Obama. I’m half way through it, but I 10/10 recommend it gives some really good insight into a successful women’s life.

3.𝓦𝓸𝓻𝓴𝓸𝓾𝓽

It’s time to get that summer bod… Instead of binge watching your fav shows go outside, get some vitamin D, and get your exercise on. You don’t need to go to an actual gym because you can do it all at home! Today, for example, I took my dog on a run & stretched. If you aren’t a fan of running you can follow an exercise youtube video, or you can look up workouts on Pinterest. Even If you aren’t in a working out mood just get some fresh air. Today I just went on a long walk which got me moving, and it made my dog super happy lol.

As a little break from the list, let’s talk about some of the craziness going on. My mom & I went to 2 groceries stores filled with tons of people. Here are some pics of what the shelves looked like. All non-perishable items along with toilet paper, napkins, and paper towels were almost all gone. This is probably the case for where you all live, so you all have been witnessing it too. I hope you all just stay safe & sane within this whole event since it can be straining on your mental health… oh and make sure to keep washing your hands.

4.𝓟𝓻𝓮-𝓟𝓵𝓪𝓷 𝓞𝓾𝓽𝓯𝓲𝓽𝓼

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetFor me I’ve been running out of outfit ideas for the last couple of weeks. Since the weather is changing, I have more outfit possibilities to choose from. I love showing my personality through what I wear and I’ve been slacking recently on my school fits. This may be weird but when I dress in sweats then I don’t feel super motivated! This is why it’s good to have the time to get my fashion game back on. Here are some combos that I came up with for when I get back to school.

5. 𝓦𝓸𝓻𝓴 𝓸𝓷 𝓜𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓪𝓵 𝓗𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓽𝓱

School can be draining on your mental health especially during junior year. Use this free time to try to de-stress. I know for me recently I haven’t had the best vibes, so I wanna try to get back to more relaxed spot. With all this free time though the number one tip I can give to you is to try to stay off your phones. Social media is a fun place but it can also get toxic if you’re on it too much. Trust me I can easily get stuck on Tik Tok for hours upon hours, but It’s unhealthy and I’m trying to stop. With all your free time not being on your phone, have a mental health day. Make it a day of face masks, bubble baths, nail polish, and healthy snacks. You will start to feel 10 times better. When your super busy you usually forget to take time for yourself, so just use this time to do some self love.

6. 𝓢𝓾𝓶𝓶𝓮𝓻 𝓟𝓵𝓪𝓷𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰

Today my parents and I took the day to start planning my summer.  If your a junior like me you can start planning what colleges you’re interested in, when you wanna write your college essay, who your teacher recommendations are gonna be. If you aren’t a  junior though you could make a Summer bucket list, plan a trip, or figure out what new things you wanna try this Summer. It’s the countdown til Summer and it’s time to get prepared!
